Vintage Picnic Baskets

Summer seems to conjure up all sorts of activities, including picnics! Whether it be a romantic lunch for two, an outing to the park with the kids or a snack with junk girlfriends, food just tastes better outside in the summertime, don't you agree?

When I stumbled upon these great vintage picnic baskets recently, it brought back a flood of summertime memories from my childhood. During the school-free months my little brother and I often packed a lunch (okay, an entire week of food) and outside we'd run to the big hill in the pasture overlooking the barnyard. Sound exciting? Oh, it was grand! With cows grazing nearby, usually one or two cats followed us and surely our beloved farm dog, Mitzi, came along for the feast.
Little bro and I would talk for hours. It's funny how something so simple can trigger a memory!Perhaps yet another "collection" is materializing for me, or maybe just a phone call to my brother is in order - ? Yep.

Option 2 is probably best.
