We were also contacted by Nickole Steiner,
she is the JunkFest shopper who took the time to send a comment
to Flea Market Style magazine....and that comment got published!
Which put us on their list for
the "Best Vintage Sales from Coast to Coast".
She'll be getting a little goody bag in the mail too.
Thanks again, Nickole!

She was nice enough to send a picture
of one of her awesome JunkFest finds from the sale last fall.
This is how it is displayed in her home:

(It is behind her two fabulous chairs)
Two windows from a 1936 Post office, were hinged together
and then a black and white image of Venice was attached to the back.
It made for a unique piece of art/screen.

Looks great in your home, Nickole...Thanks for sharing!!

Keep your eye out for our next give-away...
we may soon be celebrating our 1000th follower!

Mini Garden Greenhouse

Hello everyone! I'm linking this post to Funky Junk Interior's SNS. Donna hosts some fabulous DIY link parties every week, and this week's theme is "old windows." Head on over there to ooh, ahh, and drool over all the incredible talent! After doing some drooling myself I decided to post about the mini garden greenhouse that I made for JF '08. This piece was purchased by a local retail shop owner who uses it for her store displays. I just happen to be in one of her stores today where the greenhouse is being displayed, so I snapped a few pics to show you.

I was inspired to make this after seeing it on another blog a LONG time ago. I wish I could remember which blog, so I could give credit where due, but like I said...it was a long time ago.

Since the theme for the link party was old windows, I grabbed another couple shots to share with you. LeAnn, the owner of The Garden Gate (with stores in Carrington, Jamestown, and Devils Lake!) has MAD merchandising skills, which is evident in these photos. Below, she uses several windows, along with chippy spindles on top of a shelving unit. Drop-dead gorgeous against the brick wall!!

Below is a shot of my greenhouse as it sat prior to the madness of the '08 sale. I have since seen so many versions of these greenhouses......some you'll even see over at Funky Junk Interiors. I love them all! Heck, maybe I'll even make one for myself!

Looks MUCH better in the store, don't you think?

Now scoot, go check out all the possiblities old windows have to offer!!
