New urn purchase all decked out for summer!

Happy first day of summer! I want to introduce you to my new (old) urn! Let me tell ya, it has been a long awaited purchase. For the past few years I've been looking for one - just the right one - you know what I mean. The ones I've seen have either been waaay too expensive for my pocket book, or just not the right size/shape...or color.
While filling my yearly flower buying addiction at a local greenhouse recently, I turned the corner and saw her - it was love at first sight! She is actually two pieces...two heavy pieces, but the beauty is I can use the top piece in my house this fall/winter - this was the deciding factor without a doubt! I can just picture her filled with Christmas balls and greenery on my dining room table...
Of course her base is wonderful too...sigh.I can't just end there...here are a few pics of some flowers and junk items I decorate with in my yard... don't you just LOVE summer?!
The old scale didn't sell last year at JunkFest - thank goodness! A plant hangs nicely on her.
A farmer's seed separator works so well holding up this heavy perennial...
I'm simply in love with my hostas...and ferns...green and lush!

Here's hoping your basket is filled with the beauty of summer!

Junk in Bloom...

This old typewriter may have has lost its keys, but not it's cute-ability! This lovely old Smith & Corona has found a new purpose as a planter on my back patio...Doesn't everyone love rusty baskets? This one is no exception. Truth is, it doesn't look too junky any longer filled with pretty flowers! But if you look closely, maybe it does with the old typewriter keys stuck in the dirt...grow baby grow!My recent thrift store purchase is obviously a creamer, but it can look oh, SO PRETTY as a bud vase...in my opinion.
An old ladle is filled with new life...Soon-to-be-flowering are the contents in this old flour sifter...
Indoors, and with no need to display firewood now, my rusty log holder is currently a summer "junk in bloom" right in my own dining room... I have decided from now on whenever I post to this blog I will try to remember to add a "quote for the day" or perhaps fun "words of wisdom" to the end of each post. I am challenging my three junk sisters on this site to do the same...so, here goes:

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, drinking too much, impulse buying and driving too fast. Are they kidding?! Those things are MY idea of a PERFECT day!
